Y.a.LowID Question
« on: November 22, 2004, 03:23:48 AM »

Hi everybody again...

Just after noticing that there is no such thing anymore as stable/unstable version, I decided to move from 1.2.8 to 2.0.0.rc7. The only issue that emerged is that I can no longer get a high ID. The network configuration remained exacly the same, as well as the preferences. One thing that I have noticed is that in the "My Info" tab, the "IP : Port" field is unknown although I am connected (and of course have my LowID).
Can someone give me some insight to deal with that problem?

Thanx in advance

well, i had a close look at this right now and if you are on LowID, it shoudl display "LowID" instead of "unknown". so something is broken.i now people who has had this very same problem as you and have been able to fix it just by deleting the ~/.eMule file (NOT ~/.aMule directory). Instead of deleting it, please move it elsewhere and, if it fixes your problem, send it to me, please.
Also, please tell me what exactly is showing "My info" as "IP:Port".
Thanks and greetings!

A well known way to fix a problem....

Well, by removing the .eMule, I got a High ID but them moment I get it, the application crashed. Maybe there was a problem on saving the server list (which is the next action shown in the logfile usually).
I removed the preferences file also but didn't got any better. The solution was (unfortunately) to reinstall the package (Suse.RPM) after deleting .aMule and .eMule. Now it works well but I lost my credits.
Anyway I attach the old .eMule.
Cheers...

so the problem was in the ~/.aMile directory then too. it's bad that you didn't check which file in there was giving you poblem :( anyway, i'll check the ~/.eMule file. thanks a lot for sending it to me ;)

Please keep corrupt files next time so they can be traced.
