How can I get a high ID?
« on: November 24, 2004, 11:26:15 AM »

I read the Fireware Help. But it seems no help to me. My terminel seems don't know the iptables command. But if login in as a root it can run but still give me a low ID. I think I did configeration for my router since I can get a high ID for emule based on windows xp. I don't know what's going on with my llinux(Fedora core 2 kernel 2.6.9-FC2)

Btw, what are the external and internal interfaces? Should I change my iptables configuration script? Thx.

You can't use iptables command without root access. When logged as root, run iptables -L and check your firewall settings. FC1-3 have firewall enabled by default, so you WILL get LowID unless you either disable it or configure properly.
This of course have nothing to do with right router configuration. But if you can get HighID from another computer thru same router, that router must be fine. You using same port on BOTH linux and windows, don't you ? You don't want to confuse router :)

I logged as the root, but still I can't get the High ID after I use the iptables commands. The download speed is really low for a Low ID. Any suggestions?

Hello ibuddler

Fedora run default Firewall with service iptables. You can disable it for test your connection with amule.

As root
type ---> service iptables stop
Flush rules with this
iptables -F
iptables -X
iptables -Z

after reload amule with classics settings.

ps
Not forget of share :)
