Some GUI requests
« on: December 08, 2004, 12:04:26 AM »

Hello, this is my first post, I hope you find it useful and intresting.

Things that I miss in aMule GUI:

- some information columns in search tab, mainly length/duration.
- auto-sort files in traffic tab while downloads are active and running.
- more space in search tab for browsing search results (if you use extended options, there's no enough space)
- edk links handling could be set only in one of the tabs
- mime-type file icons in search, traffic and shared files tabs (that's not pretty important, in fact :) )

Best regards, and sorry about my English xDD

> length/duration
ye mean the date and time when the download began?

> auto-sort files in traffic tab while downloads are active and running
yes, will be back in cvs after next release (it was removed because it made the window blink)

> more space in search tab for browsing search results
little can be done about that, but in cvs after next release the search window has some more sapace for results, yes.

> edk links handling could be set only in one of the tabs
check Preferences->GUI Tweaks ;) that option is there already. it will place it in Search tab

> mime-type file icons in search
that can't be done yet since there's no usable X-mime standard yet. as soon as there is one in Linux, it will be used :)

Your english is great ;)

thanks for the suggestions!

no, I mean duration/length of an audio/video file, just in the search tab. It's useful in order to choose among files with the same name or simply as information.

I find "Name" box extremely big, perhaps it could be reduced...

Nice, just in the search tab, there when I claimed for space xD. I seize the opportunity to suggest to place it in servers tab  :))

yes. meta tags are not read yet. someday ;-)

>I find "Name" box extremely big, perhaps it could be reduced...
sure, and then? heh. the problem are the extended options. but well, as I said, that's something that should be carefully looked at. it's a known issue indeed, so be sure after 2.0.0 final release it will be looked at.

uh, well. you're right about that point really. maybe an option to decide where to put it would be even better. again, after 2.0.0 final release.

Hi everybody,
the shared files context menu has no "Open File" entry.

IMHO it would be useful to add it

Bye

well, it could only be added to the video files, is that suits your request... other files wil still be unable to be opened.
