runs fine but crashes regularly after some time!
« on: December 31, 2004, 01:55:33 AM »

Hi!

I do have the following annoying problem with aMule 2.0.0rc8. I can start and run amule fine, it has really good download rates, but after some time, some hours it just crashes completely:

OPS! Houston, we have a situation: seems like aMule crashed!
Please, post these lines on the backtrace forum on http://www.amule.org/
aMule version is: 2.0.0rc8 using wxGTK1 v2.4.2

The rc7 release didn't crash that regularly, but it also happened. rc8 is nearly unusable now... :-(

My system is a PII 350 MHz with 256 MB RAM, SUSE 9.1 Pro running GNOME 2.4. The files downloaded by amule are stored on an external 160 GB USB1 HD due to space issues...
I DO use the libwx-packeges from this site!
Does anyone have an idea what could be the problem?

Truzzone,

Yes, this is the same error. Please try to compile yourself a recent cvs tarball. You can get one here:

« Reply #10 on: January 21, 2005, 09:20:36 PM »

Hi!
I had a similar problems up to some days ago and was due to a ram stick damaged.

Without that stick all works fine for 2-3days. But today I had some crashes again...

Oh, yes. You're right, sorry.

I tried with rc8 and with a cvs (i've just delete it) but I wasn't able to compile it correctly. I should have a mistake during os installation, there is a problem with c++ compiler.

I'll try again with the latest cvs. I'm thinking to install a FC3 instead of Mandrake10.

 cheers
