I experience a couple of aMule crashes the last couple of days with the latest Mac-Binary

first aMule hangs a while, not reacting at all to my input, the up/download stats freeze and than it crashes.

Hi HipHopSuperWhatever,
I had those crashes too, some after one hour, some after 16 hours with Mac aMule 2rc8. And the backtrace was not always the same. See this thread: http://forum.amule.org/thread.php?threadid=4566&sid=, but read it fully.
I think this should fix it for you too, itis a lengthy way, but worth it:

* download  wxWidgets from cvs (see

http://www.amule.org/wiki/index.php/HowTo_compile_on_Mac and the attention-part how to do that)
* before compiling wxWidgets, make shure, you apply the changes in the thread mentioned above (in the one file in src/unix/gsocket.cpp, line 583). You can do this in TextEdit or another text-editor or vi in the shell. Maybe, the changes have already applied by ken to wxWidgets cvs, but i think not.
* compile wxWidgets and install it like described in the wiki
* compile aMule2rc8 source, it will be linked against your newly compiled wxWidgets library. Thereby use ./configure --disable-systray --disable-gtk --with-wx-config=/usr/local/bin/wx-config --enable-debug --disable-optimise, so you can later report crashes with gdb, if this doesn't fix the problem anyway

Okay, for now it compiled fine, lets see how long it lasts...

BTW: For the Wiki: In line 14 it says:

14. Copy the amule binnary to the app-Container directory: cp src/amule amule.app/Contents/MacOS/

but at least I didn't find no "MacOS"-Folder, had to create it myself...

Hi HipHopPunkSuperStar,
good. I definetly think that was the bug, 'cause my amule has run since that fix for 28 hours without a problem now (no crash an not a single error-output with gdb).
For the wikki: just edit the page, I would say. That's what the wikki is for, after all :-)
I don't have CVS access, so you should ask one of the devs to include the folder, probably kry on irc. Or rather to create the folder during make :-)
