2 questions: xwindows and lowid
« on: January 03, 2005, 11:45:23 AM »

Hello, i have 2 following questions:
1) Will it be possible to compile amule without any xwindows? just core, and to connect thru amuleweb or something diffrent maybe to download/search etc.

2) how good is emule if you dont have access to your ISP firewall and cant redirect ports (my admins refuse to help me becouse its not politic of their company to allow people from outside to connect directly to people behind NAT... so...)

anyways, how well amule handle lowid and no public ip?

thanks in advance

Hi

1) Yes, it is possible. See amuled.
2) It's good, you just cannot download from other lowID clients, which from my statistics tree are about 20% of the ntwork.

Regards.

for amuled please use a current cvs-tarball from
http://amule.hirnriss.net
because the last real problem with amuled is just been sloved so dont try it with rc8 or you will be really unhappy ;)

cheers
