wxCas is showing "amule running since" in seconds
« on: January 06, 2005, 10:43:41 PM »

OK, I'm not really sure if this is a bug report, a feature request or if I am just too stupid to set it up correctly, so I'll assume it is my fault and post it here. ;)

I have amule 2.0.0rc8 running on a debian SID box and now tried out wxCas to produce a signature. Everything works fine as you can see but it shows the uptime of amule in seconds. Is this intended to be like that? It would be really nice if he would just show the days, hours etc...

/edit:
Nearly forgot this: There's a typo on the session and total uploads, it says "uoload" instead of "upload"... ;)

No, this is intended to be in hours:minutes format. Try using cas instead of wxcas, I find it more convenient (running it from a script, every 15 minutes along with some other commands to upload automagically the picture to my FTP server). Look at my signature for the way it appears.

Regards.

OK, thanks for the hint, cas is indeed more what I am looking for. But the problem stays:

(stats picture created by cas)

In fact, another problem is added. As you can see, at the end of the second line the beginning of the third line is added.  :(

Looking around the wiki brought me to this text:
Quote
Bugs

The uptime string comes internationalized from aMule
I dont know how to fix this, help is needed.
http://www.amule.org/wiki/index.php/CAS

Is this the source of the problem? If this is it I would really appreciate it if anybody with some C knowledge could take a look at this as my own knowledge of C is limited to the fact that it is the letter between "B" and "D"...

Thanks a lot for your help.

Hi!

Your problem is indeed weird, since AFAIK the way cas prints the strings in the picture is independant from their coding, so there should be no adding of 2nd and 3rd lines. Maybe the author of cas may give you some hint, since I use an english version of linux, and all the internationalization here is english, so no problems that I can see.

Regards.

thedude0001,

Check to see if you have an older version of wxCas installed somewhere in your system. Maybe you are running an older version. Try:

$which -a wxCas

Cheers!

Ermmmm...

You got me there phoenix... Before I realized amule is available through apt-get I compiled it myself for some versions. And so there still were the old cas, wxcas, alc and alcc in /usr/local/bin/ which were chosen instead of the ones from the .deb in /usr/bin/ ...

And so:

This one is from the real 2.0.0rc8 cas  :D

Thanks for the help and the hint into the right direction. And: Keep up the good work!  :)
