A problem concerning iptables / lowid
« on: February 03, 2005, 02:21:14 AM »

I have been reading http://www.amule.org/wiki/index.php/Firewall to add
the ports used by amule namely 4662/tcp and XX+3 for udp. And I have come to the point where the setup behind a NAT gateway is achieved. HOWTO says:
"you should add these lines to your iptables configuration script, on the gateway..." but I don't know what this iptables config. script is.

I'm using debian sarge. And know not much about networking.

Any help is appreciated.

aozb,

Do you have access to the gateway machine? I am asking because the lines you mention must be written in a configuration script in the gateway machine, not in your machine.

A configuration script is in fact any script you must run to configure the NAT/Firewall. I don't know if there is a nice place to put this so that it is automatically run on boot. Maybe some debian guru can help here.

Cheers!
