« on: February 10, 2005, 11:31:48 AM »

Hello everybody

The package for debian "aMule-2.0.0rc8+utils-debian_SID.tar.bz2" does not contain the 2.0.0rc8, but the 1.2.6
what is stupid is that I look for amuled for 10 minutes before viewing that ...

Can someone repar that ? (I've problems compiling)

Thank

Madjar

If you take a close look you will see that the package says "1.2.6+rc8". This is in fact 2.0.0rc8. The reason of this strange numbering lies within Debians package management. If we had calles the package 2.0.0rc8 and afterwards rolled out 2.0.0, the package managemelnt wouldn't have recognized 2.0.0 as a newer version. That far for an explanation of the strange name. (I wanted to tell you on IRC, but you quit just too fast to catch you  :) )

I'm not sure if amuled is included in this package, but I know there was a serious bug in the rc8 amuled which is fixed in cvs and would slow down your downloads a lot. So if you really want to try amuled you should use a current cvs snapshot or wait for 2.0.0final.
