Howdy all. Long time downloader, first time poster

Here's my question-
For a while now aMule has been working fine, then just the other day it (aMule) just decided it will not connect to any server. I am using a Linksys BEFW11S4 V4, but the ports are groovy (when I was connecting before I always had a HI ID), so I'm pretty sure that's not the issue. I found a thread here mentioning black listing and tarballs (que?), but I'm pretty sure tarballs have something to do with Linux, and besides that, being a Mac user, it is beyond me.
I can connect to eMule on my PC with no problemo. I can also connect with LimeWire, Direct Connect, and Xfactor on my Mac. Can anyone help me?
Also, I have a PC and a Mac connected to a cable network with Comcast. I generally have ample bandwith, but I'm eager to use as much of it as possible for down/uploading, and regardless of which P2P software I use, I never find enough connections that are strong enough to satisfy my need for speed

I'm wondering if I should even bother connecting my Mac to aMule (or any other P2P) while my PC's connected to eMule. Will they just slow each other down? Or is there bandwith for everyone?
Thanks a lot.
Any help would make me oh so happy.
