As soon as I start aMule from within a terminal window, I get this message.

hello, my problem is the same:

rpm -qa | grep wx

wxGTK-2.4.2-5.1.fc3.fr
wxBase-2.4.2-1

easy to fix

remove thise one wxGTK-2.4.2-5.1.fc3.fr and amule again

and dl
http://www.amule.org/files/details.php?file=25
http://www.amule.org/files/details.php?file=26

install those two and reinstall amule, after that everything should work fine
