amule not starting anymore
« on: March 31, 2005, 07:44:24 AM »

Not sure why, but in the last few days aMule wont start.  no errors in Gnome...nothing happens.  I tried starting from a terminal and I get.

Initialising aMule
Userhash loaded: FC357122150E111891E77EE77F166FCC
*** UDP socket at 4665
*** glibc detected *** malloc(): memory corruption: 0x0a102e18 ***
Aborted

Any thoughts?

hmm this just a guess...

did you maybe update your complete system to maybe FC3 from FC2 ? and so your glic changed?

maybe try to remove the rpm package from aMule and reinstall the one for FC3 from our dl page.

also make sure you have OUR wxGTK packages NOT the once from FC.

I've been running on stock FC3 with updates.  I loaded 2.0 after doing a fresh install of FC3 and patching everything.  I also used all of the aMule specific wxGTK.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the amule package a couple of times and i even tried building an rpm from the CVS, but there were errors in the build.

I think I will try to uninstall all of the components that amule asks for and reinstall all of them including the wxGTK.

Not sure why, but i noticed that I had the i386 and i586 rpms installed.  I unloaded both, and reladed the i386...with no joy. :(  so then i thought I would relad the i586, which i found in the original install dir.  loaded and works fine now. :P

thanks
