disable automatic paus/resume
« on: January 07, 2004, 09:57:40 AM »

I would be really nice to have an option to disable the automatic pausing/resuming based on free disk space, since I never have nearly enough free disk space for all of my current downloads.

close aMule, edit your .eMule file and change checkdiskspace to 0, launch aMule ;)

Nicer than commenting out the offending code, for sure :-)
But it would be even nicer if this was also available through
the preferences.

Actually, a third mode would make sense: pause files if disk
space is insufficient for completing only this file.

This would cover the following scenarios:

- current default: aMule runs completely unattended and
  in a resource-wise closed system

- check only space for indivudual files: external processes
may create free space by moving completed files to a
  different disk or system

- no checking at all: disk space availability cannot be
  predicted by aMule

This third mode would also increase the probability that
at least one file can actually finish, although, as I understand
the algorithm, it wouldn't guarantee it.

BTW: it should be an option on preferences, as for EC, but preferences are being rewritten right now ;)
