mplayer in preview
« on: May 13, 2005, 08:17:06 AM »

Hello again,
First this is not a serious problem; I have a good workaround. Call it curosity. Mplayer seems to have stopped functioning as my  preview player. I've been tracking amule for sometime using cvs versions. In the past I used mplayer as my previewer and it worked fine. At some point (I don't recall which one, sorry) it stopped working. Now I use xine which is fine and vlc also works with now problem but not mplayer. I can run mplayer (independently of amule) through the gmplayer frontend or from the command line, $mplayer and so on. No problems. If I set mplayer as the previewer and click on some file I'm downloading, nothing, nada, res, niente. I'm now running  I'm running the amule 20051105 cvs snapshot which otherwise works flawlessly. My mplayer info is:
MPlayer 1.0pre7-3.3.5 (C) 2000-2005 MPlayer Team
CPU: Advanced Micro Devices  (Family: 8, Stepping: 0)
Detected cache-line size is 64 bytes
MMX2 supported but disabled
SSE2 supported but disabled
3DNow supported but disabled
3DNowExt supported but disabled
CPUflags:  MMX: 1 MMX2: 0 3DNow: 0 3DNow2: 0 SSE: 1 SSE2: 0
Compiled for x86 CPU with extensions: MMX SSE
Any ideas?
thanks
Jonathan

whoops, mistake in the subject line. I meant "mplayer IN preview". Sorry for the sloppy syntax.  ;(

Maybe somebody corrected it? Anyway, any ideas about misbehaving mplayer. When I ps -A I see that 2 mplayer processes have started (after I right-click preview) but mplayer doesn't seem to be getting the filename to work with. The processes just sit there doing nothing until I kill them. Very strange.
Cheers,
Jonathan
