While aMule is running, DPMS and my screen saver will not work. The screen saver/DPMS will work fine as long as aMule is not running.

I have had this problem will all aMule builds 1.x > 2.0, all versions of KDE 2.x > 3.4.0, XFree86-4.3, and Xorg-6.8.x. My workaround has been to manually turn the power off on my monitor when I leave my computer and aMule is running.

How do I get my monitor to automatically turn off while aMule is running? Surely there must be others with this problem?

Am I the only one suffering these problems? Perhaps it is the number of downloads I have running. I have seen my monitor power down properly when I just download a few files at a time.

KDE/xorg powers down my monitor properly when I download a few files through aMule.

KDE/xorg DOES NOT power down my monitor when I download many files through aMule.

My theory is that this may be a ulimit issue..... Anyone?

I seem to remember some other possible workaround from a few years ago involving "nooffscreenbitmaps" (or something like that) in the X-Server conf ...

Any input appreciated...
