gtk1 more stable than gtk2 for Solaris?
« on: June 17, 2005, 05:19:01 PM »

I've successfully compiled 2.0.3 for Solaris 10 sparc with wxwidgets 2.6.1/gtk2

However, this version seems very unstable. Closing many dialog boxes results in a crash. Quitting the app also crashes. Switching between the main panels is ok. Downloading and uploading is fine as long as you don't play around too much.  :D

Has anyone tried wxwidgets linked with gtk1 on Solaris? Is it any more stable?

Thanks for any replies.

I'll admit I'm lazy so I wanted to see if anyone else had tried both. I recompiled using gtk1 and it is much more stable.

I'm glad to find amule - good p2p apps that work on Solaris are few and far between. Thank you devs for keeping portability in mind!
