Slow Download speed
« on: July 10, 2005, 11:29:51 PM »

My download speed is pretty slow, roughly 14 kbps.  It used to be very fast, about 40 kbps.

On my preferences, I have no limit (0) download speed, 25 kbps upload speed, slot allocation 7, max connections: 2000.  Max sources per file: 400.

My broadband connection is roughly 500 kbps download and 200 upload.  Could someone advise me on how to make my download speed faster?

Thanks everyone,

1st of all
your you have setup your upload speed right? in aMule in connections the settings are kByte not kbits, maybe you should check taht again.

about the slow thingy maybe read that:

and search the forum ;) you are not the first one...

Stefanero, my upload speed provided by my ISP is *about* 250 kbps.  The value in the upload limit on aMule is 25 - don't know if it's kByte or kbps.  I have a high I.D. (after port forwarding), so I'm sure the problem is caused by the preferences settings but I really don't know enough about this to fix it.

I did a search about previous posts but the threads I found relate to different connection speeds provided by the ISPs so they don't apply to mine.

Could you tell me what I need to change on those value fields?  ;(

well if oyu have 250kbps as upload from your ISP, then this is 15kB for your mule

so the 1st thing you should set is about 10-12 kB in your aMule upload...since 25 is way to high.

2nd maybe your provider is blcoking or slowing down the standart ed2k ports, so maybe switch to non standart once in hte setup

3rd. wait :)) ed2k is all about credits...and also depends on the files you dl, some dl fast some dl slow
