Bandwith limits in the tray-icon
« on: July 16, 2005, 06:44:33 PM »

I´d like it very much if there was an option to select a arbitrary upload- or downloadlimit by using the trayicon. Now there are only some presets which are calculated as percentages of the bandwith available.
If it´s too difficult to implement sliders in the menu (as in eMule) then an option "other" in the submenu would be nice which pops up a dialog asking for the exact value.
I think this wouldn´t be hard to implement but very useful :)

That feature could be useful. I've added an entry to the bugtracker so that it wont be forgotten about, but I can't promise you when it will be done. ;)

I'm afraid this belongs to the so-called "eyecandy" category, so we'll implement this when we drank all our beer, saved the world at least three times, fixed all bugs in aMule (in that order), and feel very bored. :P But don't be grim, actually it seems to be easy, so someone might implement it. And if not - contributions are always welcome ;)

Sorry, if I could contribute to it I´d do. Unfortunately my C++ isn´t that good.
But imangine you want to throttle your upload-speed for gaming (what I need to do with DSL) to say 30 kb/s and after that resetting it to 40.
This is a thing many users here in germany have to do...
And that´s why in eMule there´s a nice graphical slider.

I didn't say you have to do it. I said it was easier if someone else did it ;) But, as Xaignar said, it won't be forgotten, it's just not on the top of the priority queue. Patience.
