How to fix damaged files
« on: July 20, 2005, 06:26:15 AM »

I had trouble with a harddrive full of videos downloaded with amule, I could copy the videos but with errors. I was wondering if there's a way to correct those damaged files using the error detection of amule without having to download the whole file again.
They are big files to my network connection (150Kbps).

I was thinking of testing the hash in all the chunks to download only the damaged chunks.
Is it possible?

Thanx,

Rafael

There is a way. It can be found in the wiki: http://www.amule.org/wiki/index.php/AMule_problems#I_downloaded_a_file_and_it_got_corrupted_somehow_by_my_hard_disk_or_some_external_application_once_completed._Can_I_avoid_redownloading_the_whole_of_it?

[edit]Hm, that links brings me only to the wiki, not to the article I want. Anyway, just click on the link "27 I downloaded a file and it got corrupted somehow by my hard disk or some external application once completed. Can I avoid redownloading the whole of it?" after clicking on that link.[/edit]
