compiled aMuleGUI for Windows from CVS 22/09/2005 download-url
« on: September 24, 2005, 01:31:01 PM »

Hi @ll,

i have compiled amulegui for windows from cvs 22/09/2005. This zip including needed dlls and some readme for using. I have testet this on xp and 2k machines. I dont know if this works in 9x   8)

direct download:

amulegui-win32-cvs22-09-2005(incl.dll+readme).zip

ed2k:

amulegui-win32-cvs22-09-2005(incl.dll+readme).zip

Communication between an linux box with 'amuled' or 'amule' (with gui over VNC) and an win32 box with amulegui works very fine! Sometimes its a little bit slow, but it works for me :-)

Hope you like it!  :D

Wow, great!!
I just compiled CVS 20050922 on linux to be used as daemon and was looking how to compile windows gui!!

I'm goint to try it now!

Thank you
Frankk

EDIT: Tested, it works fine, maybe a bit slow, but usable. For sure it is much better than VNC.

Hi,

yes, the gui is a little bit slow, but really better than the amule-webinterface  :]  and the amuled does not need so much cpu power to run... in average 2-5% in my box, but the original monolitic app needs 10-25% in average.

Thank you for testing :)

Okay! i've found sweet little program on this forum.

In the readme.txt it says:

Just run an amuled (amule-daemon without gui) on an linux box and active the
external access (you have to enter some password and active the checkbox in the
amule-monolithic-version).

Okay! i'm a dumbass f**ker here but how do i run it as amuled and then active external access? Please help, i really want to give this a go.

I understand that aMule and aMuleGUI need to be the same version. Unfortunately, the CVS tarball of 22 September isn't available for download anymore.

Can anyone redirect me to either a newer compiled version of aMuleGUI or the 22092005 tarball? (first one is prefered ;))

I still have the aMule-CVS-20050922.tar.bz2 file on my hdd, if you really need it. But wont it be easier to build the gui on mingw (either on linux or on win) by yourself? I did this once [on win] and it was not hard, except that you have to build some more things by yourself instead of apt-getting 'em.

I agree with that, but I've been trying all day to get it work, but no luck so far.

I guess I'll have to create a new topic about it, but this is what I get when doing 'make', anyway:

Code: [Select]
mingw32-make  all-recursive
mingw32-make[1]: Entering directory `C:/MinGW/home/Michel/amule-cvs'
Making all in m4
c:\mingw\bin\mingw32-make.exe[2]: Entering directory `c:/mingw/home/Michel/amule-cvs/m4'

c:\mingw\bin\mingw32-make.exe[5]: Entering directory `c:/mingw/home/Michel/amule-cvs/docs'

...
...

And so on, until [237], after which it counts back. Something's not right....

I guess I can try to fix this problem (which I've been doing for the last couple of hours), but it'd also be great if you or somebody else can provide me with a newer build :).

Thanks anyway.

Sorry, I didn't know about the win32-issues, I'll upload the archive to provide a temporary solution.

Thanks, I've got it working.

/edit:

Now that it's working, another question comes up: is it possible to make aMuleGUI handle ed2k links (i.e., 'pass them through')? I've tried to use the ed2k.exe helper program, but no luck.

ed2k.exe is only usable if you run amule locally, i.e. on the same machine where you run ed2k.exe. If you run amule(d) on a linux box and use on remote gui on the windows box, then it is not for you.

You should use amulecmd, as something like this: amulecmd.exe -c 'add '
after setting up a proper config file. Read its maual page on how to set up initially the config file.

Unfortunately I'm still having the same problems (see above), so I can't build amulecmd.exe :(.

Does amulecmd.exe have to be the same version as amule.exe? If no, could someone be so good to provide me with a windows build of amulecmd.exe? If yes, then does anyone have a clue on how to fix my MinGW problems?

Thanks for any help.
