language problem
« on: October 12, 2005, 09:37:45 AM »

Hello,

I have installed amule-cvs-20051012.

When I start amule the default language is English.

But my default locale/language is German.

In preferences I changed system default to German.

After a restart amule still use the English locale.

amule-cvs-20051008 did show up the right language ->German

What's wrong here?

My locale settings are correct I think.

LANG=de_DE.UTF-8
LC_CTYPE="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_TIME="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_COLLATE="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_MESSAGES="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_PAPER="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_NAME="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_ADDRESS="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_TELEPHONE="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_MEASUREMENT="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_ALL=

do you run amule from the src dir? or you always do make install in the end?

I have used a rpm package from "IhmSelbst"  for installation.
See this thread:
http://forum.amule.org/thread.php?threadid=7632

So I did not know if he build the rpm correct.

I did not compile this on my own.
I have a few problems with compiling this on my new installed SuSE 10.0 box.
(btw:on 9.3 it worked without problems)

After ./configure I got:

WARNING! gd-lib >= 2.0.0, or a functional gd.h (from gd-devel) not found.
 amuleweb will be compiled but file download progress bar images will NOT be generated.
 See the above error on gd check for solutions.

GD-Devel is installed...

But this is another story and may not disscused here....

well, built them the same way like all others before. - the only difference is that i upgraded from the RC1 to the final GM last weekend, that´s all.

best is:
here, the terminaloutput of the locale-command is the same as that from starbuck, and, here the preferences (also german) stay saved, as usual...  ?(

strange, this. - and no idea somehow.

hi again,
finally found some spare time to check out, what happened:
i simply built the files without i18n-support for some reason, after i upgraded SuSE to the 10.0 final last weekend, and didn´t notice this. dunno why, braindamaged or what. so all ppl please excuse the inconvenience, all should work fine again.
