Hi there,
need some advice with different Boomerangs, Ketamins, gans, ZamBors and such. Is there a way to stop them ? I know I can disable messages, but people need few words with you now and then (friendslot, file's priority, whatever). I wouldn't like to do that. I included probably 100 of their IPs in my ipfilter, that is already 7 MB big, but they change often, so no use. Today they were in a good mood and 4 of them bombarded me with their messages. Are they spying on you or spaming or ... what? Does someone out there in the wild world have a solution for this crap ? The amule 2.0.0rc7 that I'm using works good for me. Is there a way to put their name in that config file ? Any suggestion would be much appreciated :baby:
Take care & have fun

In the latest release version of aMule you can set up message filtering by content. So, you only have to specify some words (for example 'leech'), and new messages containing this word will be silently filtered out. This functionality is not available in 2.0.0rc7 you're currently using.

You can just filter based on message content. Just go to Preferences->Message Filter and check "Filter incoming messages (...)". Also check "Filter messages containing (...)" and put unique keywords from the spam messages you are getting in the text field (seperate multiple keywords with commas).
For instance, my keywords are "www.besucher-award.de, L33cher Team, is connecting too fast, ZamBoR" which eliminates 100% of the spam I am getting. Just make sure that you only use filter terms that people would not normally use when they contact you via the chat feature (e.g. filtering for "Hi" would be kinda stupid ;)).

Just saw that you are still using 2.0rc7 which is pretty old. I'm not sure if filtering based on message content is already implemented in that version. In any case, I would strongly advise you to update to 2.0.3, you won't regret it. :)

Thank you, people,
I know that my mule is a bit old, missing some options, but my OS is - was ok for my needs. We have upgrade these days (Ubuntu Breezy), but you know first week, not everything working and so. I'll uprade altogether one of these days. I did a lot of searching and deep inside I was hoping there is some trick...
But, thank you again and keep on rockin'
