And yes, lfroen, it's absurd. But THAT is what make it so special. That's what makes us special as a project also. We think about fun, not about market.
I have no idea how it makes us special. And about fun vs. market - that would be wide-spread problem in opensource world: complete failure to think from user perspective. Since we doing it for our own pleasure, nobody can force us to make thigs this way or another. And that's fair: I'm doing it on my own time - I wanna have fun, nothing wrong with that.
But - that is not, and I repeat, not changing anyting from user perspective.
Changing project name is extremely bad idea: rebranding (that's a name of this process) is long and expansive thing. Let us leave "aMule" with rabbit picture and think about icons.
One more consideration: we should check, what client icon amule gets on eMule, Shereazza, eMule-plus and others. I bet it's not rabbit.
Well, you could also interpret the "a" in "aMule" as a negation
You may be could interpret it as negation but beare in mind few things: people dont interpret, they
associate; most of users are not native english speakers (me too), and I would never think about "a mule" as "un mule".
...what about aKrokodil
mule + rabbit == krokodil ? I don't think so: none of them swim, none predator and none that ugly

Take genetics class ;(
