Comments in downloads
« on: October 28, 2005, 12:17:58 PM »

Hello, I have seen that people put comments in files that they don't have completely downloaded. Is it possible in aMule? I have searched for the option but I can't find it.

If that option doesn't exist, it would be a good add-on.

You can put a comment on a file on the shared files list. Right click on any file.

I would resume this request.

I'd like to see, in download list, that when I look at all comments (right click on file > show all comments) a button to add my own comment.

It's un-user friendly to have to go into shared file list, search for the file I've already found in downloadlist and the add my comment.

What about?

Thanks & Regards.

If you are not sharing the file you can't send your comment to anyone.

But all the files corrently in download are share, are they? So, this leads back to the ability to add comment in the download tab.

Thanks

Shouldn't it be changed to something like: if preview is available, so are comments? how can you know what a file is if you have not been even able to preview it? maybe commenting only complete files would help?

Regards.

Only files with at least one complete part downloaded (9.28mb) are shared.

Preview is available only for some kind of files (4 example, a zip file how can be previewed?). I think comments as a way to talk about the current file, even sponsor it of ask if someone ever seen it completed (just examples).

Let's think about a big file (~100mb) with low replication since only one source is available: I could comment it asking everybody to set priority to release to help spread the file. And I'd like to comment the file from download page since is there that I notice its sources status.

Comments like that about sharing faster always annoy me somewhat. IMHO comments should be reserved for commenting on the quality of the file and should not be used for chit-chat of that kind.

Speaking of comments/ratings, it seems like the order of the ratings is incorrect (at least for English). It should be "..., Fair, Good, Excellent" and not  "..., Good, Fair, Excellent", right?
