change dl/ul speeds from the dock (mac os X)
« on: November 09, 2005, 07:48:12 PM »

i've switched from emule on win XP to amule on mac os X, it does its job perfectly.
but i'm missing a way to quickly change upload and download speeds at once. for exemple when you start a conversation on ichat and you need bandwith but don't want to quit amule. i thought  simple "put dl/ul to min" and "put dl/ul to max" choices in the amule dock pop-up menu would be realy usefull.
do you think it's something possible?

Possibly.  On other platforms, aMule has a feature called the Tray Icon or Tray Integration.  Among other things, it provides a pop-up menu with several choices, including the ability to change aMule's bandwidth limits.

The problem is that this feature doesn't work well on the Mac.  It causes aMule to crash.

Of course, that's a problem we (I) really ought to fix, but... uh.. erm...  I haven't.  :D

Mind you, I haven't actually tested recently to be sure the crash is still there.  It's remotely possible that changes in wxMac and/or aMule have spontaneously fixed it, but I doubt it.
