We always had a set of rules that were enforced on the forums. Basically they consisted of "play nice, post to the right forums, do as the mods tell you and don't post anything related to copyrighted material". Somehow these rules were never written down and there have been some misunderstandings with new users on the forum because of that.
Those times are gone, the forum rules are written down now
here. It's nothing fancy, just the rules that always applied written down. We won't eat somebody's firstborn because he accidentally put his first post on the wrong thread, but people who post links to copyrighted material and revert moderator edits might get a serious kick in their behind. well, we already did that, but "I didn't know!" isn't an excuse any longer
