Sorry morph, but you are wrong, let me explain to you what happened.

You had a segmentation fault (SEGFAULT). gdb caught the crash. Then you displayed a backtrace. Search for a problem inside this first backtrace, this is the gdb one. The second backtrace is produced by the crash handling routine inside aMule, and this one, for its own nature, is not as trustable as the gdb one.

One example is given the addresses reported by the right side of /usr/bin/amule in some lines. They should have been converted to aMule line numbers. But hey, those routines are NOT inside aMule, they are inside wx-lib, so why did the backtrace handler found that they are inside aMule, and why did it not convert it to aMule source code line numbers? In fact, if it did convert them to aMule source lines, I would be amazed...

When I mean code inside aMule, I mean code written by aMule team. If you are following our instructions and have compiled aMule with debug information, a crash within aMule will show aMule source code line numbers, so that we can actually analyse the code.

None of the lines of the backtraces you posted reports code inside aMule. Every single line is about a routine written in either wx-widgets or GTK.

And that makes me repeat again: recompile yourself both wx and aMule. My guess is your distro wx is broken. And use debug information or your backtraces will be useless for us. If you compile wx with debug information, they maybe we can find and fix a bug in wx too.

May i compile only wx and keep using amule packed by vollstreckernet ? I need the source code to  compile wx?

No, that is pretty all you need to do. I personally dont like to do the exports, I give the variables on the command line like this:
$ LANG=en_US.UTF-8 LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/wxWidgets-cvsu/lib verb-2.4.2/src/amule &

I don't really know about these files, I use wx-cvs from their cvs , get the instructions from their site or sourceforge if you want to do this too.

Hum, I doubt it. Maybe if you choose to use a non-unicode version of wx-widgets, but if I were you, I would do a real test and recompile aMule too. Also, compile wx with UNICODE, so you have a better aMule experience.

You don't need the "All" tarball, the "Gtk" one is sufficient. It contains the Gtk and Base libraries. The "All" has additional stuff for Windows, Mac, Motif, ... and the Python bindings, you don't need that for aMule.
