UDP port changes randomly
« on: December 16, 2005, 09:01:40 PM »

It's been bothering me for some time now that the UDP port in the configuration changes to some random number every so often.
I keep setting it to 5665, but after X number of days it changes to something like 36456 or 21009 etc.

Naturally this screws up my port forwarding configuration.

Anyone else had this happen?

8o
never seen anything like that, the port is also stored in your
amule.conf
file, maybe someone has read/write access to it?!

The only way this mght happen, is when your port settings collide and the port has to be changed to a random value to avoid it.

Aaah.  I was confused with the client UDP port and the emule extended port, and trying to put them on the same thing. ie, client TCP 5662 and emule extended on 5665 UDP, which leads to the collision on the client UDP port.

Thanks Kry
