Can't get aMule to show any search results
« on: December 22, 2005, 03:24:17 AM »

I need help with amule, I can't get searches to return anything. I've removed all firewall rules and disabled loading of ipfilter.dat. I'm not behind a router. I'm an idiot and don't know what to try next.

I forgot to mention that I can connect to servers. I have a mostly default config, tried messing around with the listening port numbers to no avail.

hey

what servers are you connected to?

since there are a lot fo fake-server out there which just dont return any search results...

try donkeyserver nr 1-5 or razorback 2, and only razorback 2, not 2,4 or something else

Thanks for the reply, I've tried Razorback 2.0 and DonkeyServer(s) No1/2 among others and still no luck. I'm keeping my search criteria pretty simple some examples include knoppix, linux, etc... Out of curiosity I've installed gtk-gnutella and it's claiming that I'm firewalled, but when I run iptables -L -n its showing a default policy of accept. I've also scanned my computer and am seeing mostly closed ports. So I don't think the problem is aMule anymore.
