NSLU2 packages

I've built NSLU2 ipk's. They are intended to be run under OpenSlug, will not run on UnSlung. I've also made a Packages file, just for the case you want to treat this as a feed.

There are packages for aMule 2.1.0, wxbase cvs and, for the same price, unrar.

Hi Ramiro,

I am using with big success your packages on my NSLU but there are still a few problems which I think are mostly due to the Openslug platform.

For example some times while completing a downloaded file, amuled crashes.
Another crash always occurs when you use amule remote gui to control amuled in nslu. After i close amule remote gui, amuled shutdowns!

Anyway, I think it is a great try which will get better when the platform gets more stable.

Yes, I think so. But there are also a few bugs in aMule itself. I think they are mostly due to unaligned memory acceses. You can cat /proc/cpu/alignment and see if the user counter increases when a crash happens. I also think amule is more stable if controlled by amulecmd instead of amuleweb. I don't use remote gui so can't talk about it.

Out of Memory: Killed process 2213 (amuled).

Hm, do you have any idea what could cause that in amule?

Also since you have used it more, do you have any specific guidelines on the max number of files, connectios etc. that should be used for proper operation?

OK, I just checked my fstab and.... no swap partition!!!

It seems that during a cloning of my hard disks the swap partition was lost resulting in a system with 32MB of RAM and no swap!

Now I used a usb stick but I will have to shutdown my NSLU and create a swap partition on the hard disk.

I guess the 'out of memory' message was caused by that.

This is the right behaviour when there is less memory than needed. I saw it once, when compiling one version of amule while running another one. Too much for the slug.
If your slug was doing nothing else, sure it was the lack of a swap partition.

I can't tell you what is the max number of connections or files, because when I download about 8 files, my very low end incredibly cheap DSL router freezes. I need a new, more robust, router to continue testing.

hi, Ramiro,

i have tried to use the amule package under nslu2, but so far still stuck somewhere: after turning on "amuled" correctly without error, "amulecmd" seemed to unable to connect to "amuled" darmon with error message of:

"
This is amulecmd 2.1.0

Creating client...
Connection Failed. Unable to connect to the specified host
"
I have double checked all the option in .aMule/amule.conf, and gernerate a new remote.conf from --creat-*** option of "amule", but i got constantly above message, and i am really at the end of my wits, my 5 years experience of Linux did not help... :(

^^ did you read the wiki ???

ALL passwords in remote.conf and amule.conf hase to be an md5sum

change that and retry :))

also teh webserver one is clear text...
