I can tell you I have had a Linksys WRT54GS for te last hsix months. my daughter uses emule on Windows, I use what you know, and no trouble until now
(Using the alchemy firmware).
Certainly better than my old Netgear DG834. I needed to reset it every two days, using the same config on a better adsl line.
As for now, my ADSL line gives me :
NeufBox (9online)
True capacity (controlled) : 7968Kbps down, 800Kbps up
Amule :
Limits up : 36KBps Slots : 12KBps
40 new connections/s
File Buffer : 1 MB
Queue : 2000 clients
Average results (These Settings have been here for 6 months) : 34KBps up, 130KBps down
My daughter still has kept default settings on emule, she is running on WiFi.
And we have no trouble than the usual slow web traffic on WE.
Just to tell you it's a very nice router.
More, the firmware source is open, and a lot of people have added their own tweakings for it (it's a mini-linux kernel). Just do a Google search.
It's used by City administrations too to provide urban wifi accesses (Lille, Grenoble in France).
More expensive than the average routers, but worth the cost IMHO.
Didn't try the "through-the-window" crash test anyway (No reason until now
)
