amule can not connect to the server, why?
« on: May 03, 2006, 05:27:52 PM »

System: Mac OS X 10.4.6, Airport Express.

in amule log,all the server is timed out, like this:
2006-05-03 23:24:39: Servers: Trying to connect
2006-05-03 23:24:39: Connecting to BlashtMashters (209.204.61.50 - 209.204.61.50:0)
2006-05-03 23:24:39: Connection attempt to TigAAAR slam (209.204.61.178:4661) timed out.

where is the problem?:(

By open site: http://www.amule.org/testport.php?tcpport=4662, said TCP port 4662 is unavailable.

Error: TCP port 4662 is unavailable. Make sure your firewall or router is allowing/forwarding this TCP service port and your ED2K client is running (i.e. aMule, eMule).
Detailed Error Message
TCP Error 111 Connection refused

Explanation
The port is available for connections but a connection was refused meaning there is nothing listening on that port. This most likely means you can use ED2K but your client is not currently running. Try running this test again with an ED2K client running to make sure you can really establish a connection. No info available; this TCP error probably indicates a problem with the networking on your system (i.e. the TCP/IP stack).

Your public address is 61.149.48.229 (61.149.48.229)

You need to forward the ports amule uses in your router. For this, have a look at http://portforward.com/routers.htm.
aMule uses three ports (see Preferences->Connection) that need to be forwarded:
- a client TCP port
- a client UDP port (this is the above port +3)
- and an eMule extended UDP port

You can use the connection tester to test whether the client TCP port is forwarded properly.

Good luck. :)
