old bug -- disappearing downloads from time to time
« on: May 28, 2006, 09:53:14 PM »

Hello,

I checked the forum but I didn't anything related. I noticed several times with several versions of aMule that in quite mysterious situations it is losing the downloads. Let's say I have 100 entries on the list, and one day (I don't know when and why) one of the downloads is missing (I mean, it is lost, it disappeared from the list; and it is no longer in temp directory).

Besides that I didn't have any problems with aMule, great app.

have a nice day
bye

Maybe there's a .met-file missing. (Happened to me after a freeze due to a very dusty cpu-cooler...) Try to search a .part-file in the temp-folder without correspondending .met-file and rename the .met.bak file to .met and restart amule.

Thanks for the tip, however:
a) at least both files (.met and .met.bak) were removed since I searched all files for phrase "title" (where title is the part of the file I was downloading) and nothing was found
b) amule never hanged up for me, or anything like this; the closest possible situation is kill on exit, since KDE is very eager to close amule faster than amule is actually closing

I'll try to keep an eye on missing downloads and then I search for .part file without .met* files.

have a nice day
