statistics tab
« on: August 30, 2006, 12:41:27 AM »

I am using Debian testing version.
The Download and Upload graphics have a max harcoded at 7 kB/s.
Is there a way to change that scale, like the connections graphic?

It would be easier to be able to change the scale of the connections graphic
on the fly instead of jumping through hoops and having to go through the
Preferences tab.

You can change the scale of those two graphs in Preferences->Connection->Line Capacities.

I personally hardly ever change the scales of these graphs, so for me going through the preferences is perfectly acceptable.

Thanks. I had missed that (or seen it but misunderstood it).

As far as the ergonomy is concerned you are probably right, it is not a change
one makes often, but I guess making this more obvious with some hint or link in
the statistics screen would help.

Also, aMule could perhaps try to auto-detect or
guess the real line capacities from the actual traffic taking place.

Also, it is counterintuitive to have these settings not grouped with the
"Connections Graph Scale" (Preferences > Statistics). If they need to stay
under Preferences > Connections, then why not duplicate them?

Yes you are right, the current solution is somewhat counterintuitive. One option could be moving the line capacities to the stats section in the prefs, that would be more intuitive but also less convenient, because sometimes when you change your connections speeds you also want to easily change your line capacities without going back and forth.
I'm not sure about your duplication idea. I think having the same setting appear multiple times might even be more confusing than the current setup.

Maybe the best solution would be to include a small note in the stats section of the prefs that points the user to the connection section.
