amule crashed after adding met file
« on: April 23, 2007, 03:23:45 PM »

Hi,

I have just deployed my Ubuntu 7.04 (Feisty Fawn) on my computer. I installed aMule as normal. But I found after I entered the URL containing an MET file and pressed ENTER key so that I can obtain ed2k server list, aMule crashed.

I followed this link

http://www.amule.org/wiki/index.php/Getting_Started#Connecting_to_a_Server

Following is my shell log:
forrest@medic:~$ amule

Would you mind trying to compile the latest CVS code and see if this problem persists?

You can get a tarball here:
http://www.hirnriss.net/?area=cvs

And instructions on how to compile it here:
http://www.amule.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page
http://www.amule.org/wiki/index.php/Compilation_Installation

hi,

I have compiled the latest version of CVS succefully.

And it could work well as normal now. Thanks.

When I try to start it, it said:
forrest@flavia:~/amule-cvs$ This binary requires you to use the flag --even-if-lfroen-complains-this-will-stay and only if you're very sure of it. Warning: If you're lfroen, you might find this annoying. That pleases me.

If I add that flag, amule could be started. But I really don't wanna type that long strings. How can I do? Only edit my bashrc to create an alias?

Alias could work, you could also look for the file aMule.cpp in src folder, and remove that yourself. It's not hard, you just gotta know a bit of C/C++

Regards.

Or you can create a script (amule.sh):
Code: [Select]
#! /bin/bash
amule --even-if-lfroen-complains-this-will-stay
