I thought I should create a new thread, since this is about a new version of amule.
The patch is working, i.e., the Incoming/Temp folders can be located in a FAT32 harddisk. But, the problem with checking the available free space was not fixed and it is not on the list with the known bugs. OR at least I did not see it (my apologies in case I missed it)

What I am missing from amule 2.0.0_rc1 is that when you chose to download a file it will check for available free space and if it was enough it will immediately allocate it for the file to be downloaded.
Now, when I updated amule 2.0.0_rc2 with the patch, I chose to download one more file and I think (no, I am sure about it)  that it immediately allocated space for that file, but not for the files that I was already downloading. At least not for all of them. I see many files which are big as 600MB but only 400MB are allocated.

Thank you

I can confirm this.  I'm currently downloading something like 15Gb of files (I can't be bothered to actually do the counting.  It is correct within 3Gb.) but only have 6Gb of disk space free on that partition.  I've already downloaded just under 2.5Gb but that still doesn't take it anywhere near 15Gb.  I have no paused or stoppped files.

Therefore the disk free check isn't working.  I have the check box ticked and free space at 1Mb.  I've also tried with the box unchecked, but that didn't make any difference.

This does rather look like the free space check is being ignored/bypassed.

For reference it is on an ext3 partition, so no FAT issues there.

I had the check box ticked and set it to 200MB. The free space was 150MB. Now it is  set to 100MB. I do not think is going to work, I just wanted to repeat the experiment. BTW, the harddisk is a FAT32

Ahh.  Can I suggest that there is another option that states something equivalent to  "I will only continue to add files in non-paused/stopped state until less than this much disk space will be left once all the downloads have completed" but much clearer and nicer?

I think this behaviour is better, especially when you put temporary files on one partition and finished on another. That way you get a system whereby you download stuff until you are going to run out of space, then you don't start new files until one or more of the previous ones has finished and then you do some more.

I agree with you , xyzzy.
I think this is what it was with amule_2.0.0_rc1

Right now, the available free space is 85MB<100MB, which I have set it to.

Getting the same that I reported last time, i.e.

can't write to file descriptor 15 (error 28: No space left on device

Although there are 35MB left on the harddisk. Recall that I had set it to 100MB
