Nothing to do... :(
This time the compile && make && make install of your file goes wright after makink links:

[root@localhost aMule-2.0.0rc7]# la /usr/bin/wx-config
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root 25 Dec  8 17:01 /usr/bin/wx-config -> /usr/bin/wxgtk-2.4-config
[root@localhost aMule-2.0.0rc7]# la /usr/bin/wxbase-config
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root 26 Dec  8 17:01 /usr/bin/wxbase-config -> /usr/bin/wxbase-2.4-config
[root@localhost aMule-2.0.0rc7]#

and runing ldconfog.
I remove from my home directory the file ~/.eMule and run amule comand...
The output is:
Initialising aMule
Userhash loaded: B3151DCF3B0E6FCA9843B293AD4B6FD9

hey

alright on your laptop you self compiled wxGTK 2.5 something as it seams...

on your desktop you used the rpm from 2.4.2... so :)

well what you could do is remove all rpms frpm wxGTK and also remove amule

then recompile wxGTK which ever version you like (I would recommend 2.5.3)...and tehn recompile amule again and see if it works now ;)

compile wxGTK with
--disable-gtk2 --with-gtk --prefix=/usr/

Here we are again...
I remove the files of the old wxGTK version...
Compiled with your options the new wxGTK-2.5.3 as you said...in fact now:

[root@localhost aMule-2.0.0rc7]# ls -l /usr/bin/wx*
-rwxr-xr-x  1 root root   4864 Nov 28  2003 /usr/bin/wxbase-2.4-config_vjeter
-rwxr-xr-x  1 root root 309964 Oct 20 14:26 /usr/bin/wxcas_vjeter
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root     40 Dec  9 18:50 /usr/bin/wx-config -> /usr//lib/wx/config/gtk-ansi-release-2.5
-rwxr-xr-x  1 root root   5159 Sep 21  2003 /usr/bin/wxgtk-2.4-config_vjeter
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root      8 Dec  9 18:50 /usr/bin/wxrc -> wxrc-2.5
-rwxr-xr-x  1 root root  70186 Dec  9 18:50 /usr/bin/wxrc-2.5
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root      3 Dec  8 14:16 /usr/bin/wxvlc -> vlc

_vjeter is a backup of the old ones and no link point tham
I run ld config...
I removed the old aMule and recompile the new aMule downloaded from your site: package  aMule-2.0.0rc7.tar.gz
I result is the same :(
I remember to remove the file ~/.eMule and run the amule again but nothing new.
The result is :
Initialising aMule

Yes...I am trying to do everything from the begining...
I remove all...I think so.
I recompiled the wxGTK... and run ldconfig.The result is the seguent...:

[root@localhost wxGTK-2.5.3]# la /usr/bin/wx*
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root     40 Dec  9 20:02 /usr/bin/wx-config -> /usr//lib/wx/config/gtk-ansi-release-2.5
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root      8 Dec  9 20:02 /usr/bin/wxrc -> wxrc-2.5
-rwxr-xr-x  1 root root  70186 Dec  9 20:02 /usr/bin/wxrc-2.5

[root@localhost wxGTK-2.5.3]# la /usr/local/bin/wx*
...nothing here...

[root@localhost wxGTK-2.5.3]# find / -name wx
find: /proc/2841/task: No such file or directory
/tmp/wxGTK-2.5.3/contrib/include/wx
/tmp/wxGTK-2.5.3/include/wx
/tmp/wxGTK-2.5.3/lib/wx
/tmp/wxGTK-2.5.3/lib/wx/include/gtk-ansi-release-2.5/wx
/usr/include/wx-2.5/wx
/usr/include/wx
/usr/lib/wx
/usr/lib/wx/include/base-2.4/wx
/usr/lib/wx/include/gtk-ansi-release-2.5/wx
/usr/share/wx
[root@localhost wxGTK-2.5.3]#

It's ok?
 Can I continue whith aMule installation?

Can i install the libwx_gtk-2.4.so.0?!
Because I have not the vlc client any more:
 [root@localhost tmp]# rpm -ivh vlc-0.7.2-1.i386.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
        libwx_gtk-2.4.so.0 is needed by vlc-0.7.2-1
        libwx_gtk-2.4.so.0(WXGTK_2.4) is needed by vlc-0.7.2-1
        wxGTK >= 2.4.2 is needed by vlc-0.7.2-1
[root@localhost tmp]#
:-D

I can'nt use my vlc any more? 8o

well vlc need wxGTK 2.4.2 ....
and you probably installed 2.5.3 ....

there would be a workaround to have 1st wxGTK 2.4.2 rpm for vlc and 2nd at some other place wxGTK 2.5.3 for amule compilation

check http://www.amule.org/wiki/index.php/Using_another_wxinstall

for a little howto ;)

did you recompile wxGTK in some other place then? and compile amule against those libs?

I hope so..otherwise next restart of amule it will probably not start..but we'll see  :rolleyes:
