special characters in chat
« on: March 09, 2005, 08:09:37 PM »

amule: Wed Mar  2 07:01:20 CET 2005
wxBase: 2.4.2-1
wxGTK: 2.4.2-1
wxGTK-devel: 2.4.2-1

i've noticed a problem in the chat section when handling special characters (àèìòù°§); if i'm not wrong this doesn't happen on rc8.
that's the problem: when a client send me a line with a special character in it, what arrives to me is only the name of the client and nothing else. here is an example :P :

mr.x: bla bla
AMULE: bla bla
mx.xAMULE: what?

that's what happens if mr.x answers to AMULE with a line with special characters in it: the message is not displayed and the line is not terminated.

bug?
i hope this can help you.
bye

mmm... the test has been done with an emule client version 0.44b running on win98. i see now that for that os is needed a patch to add unicode support (that my friend didn't install).
so, amule behave in the wrong way coz the other client send special characters in non-unicode way?

bye
