Heavy CPU usage
« on: June 29, 2005, 11:24:34 PM »

I'm a Gentoo user an I have just started using aMule (2.0.1). I tryed xMule while it was been developed (too bad that the guy went nuts...).

I compiled with both GTK and GTK2 (using this one now) and they give 100% CPU usage  when I start it, when I close it and when I change server. Anyone has the same problem?

I've been using it for some time now and I think it crashed once, but I'm not sure, but I can say that it is pretty stable and working fine with GTK2!!! And looks much better! :)

If someone can help me with the CPU usage thing I would appreciate.

wxGTK 2.6.0 .... And I think don't have debug enabled... But, if you explain to me, maybe I can help to debug it!

and also if its ONLY high-cpu  on shutdown and server change thats kinda normal

on shutdown, all your part-files get updated and finally saved
on server change it has to do also a little work which takes some cpu...

That is my "amule --version" output:

aMule 2.0.1 using wxGTK2 v2.6.0 (Unicoded) (OS: Linux)

Ok, i know that it shoud use some CPU, but it goes to 100% and freezes the program!!! It takes a while and my CPU is a Athon XP 1900+ with 512MB of RAM! It is just a little anoying but It shouldn't be doing it, né?

Any more info, just ask!

Ok, I get you point, but the other edonkey clients don't have the same problem... :)
