Crash when sharing big folder
« on: March 15, 2021, 02:04:02 AM »

I have a VM that runs amule with debian bullseye, kernel 5.10, 8GB of ram.
I am trying to share a big movie folder (12+ TB).
The amule program crashes almost immediately with a SIGILL.
Reading the forum some users solved the crash by using amuled and effectively I am getting a better uptime on edk right now.
Problem is that ram is slowly increasing day by day: yesterday amuled was using 3.2 GB, right now it sits at 5.3, until eventually it will catch a sigill again and crash. It already happened three days ago.

Is this expected behaviour? I might have the time to investigate a patch for this but I would like to first understand if we expect ram usage to increase with the number and possibly dimension of files shared or if it should remain constant and this is an unexpected bug.

Big thanks to all the developers.
