Bug in aMule-CVS-20051004
« on: October 05, 2005, 01:57:54 PM »

Hi!
I compile the CVS-20051004 amule version and, when amule was connected my internet surfing works very bad (extremely slow and often no connection to internet site!).
As i stop amule's connection all return to the normality.
After this i try amule 2.0.3 with the some configuration, the some credits and files in download and in share, and now i can surf without any problem.

Fedora core 4,amule CVS-20051004 compiled with kad support, enabled optimization and disabled debug!

I hope that this can help you to the amule developmente!
Bye and.......AMULE RULEZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How fast is your upload and what's the value of your upload limit?
How many sources did you have and how many active connections?

Yes thats right. I als have that Snapshot compiled. Compiled fine, but it uses very high resources on Internet connections (even got problems connecting to other servers with ssh)
And finaly, i have seen that amule fokes and both processes use together 100% CPU...  a bit much (also i had just 6 Files in Download Queue and no files in shared folder) Hashing did work fine. My problem just is that with my Debian unstable release i cant compile standard amule stable release (linker error) and binaries have Problems with the wx Libs i have.  But rest is fine. Even i tried to do all the low cpu usage settings from preferences didnt help.
At all i can say u do a fine job :)

Could it be the kad support that does that high cpu usage and resource usage? My Kad tab said its not connected. Could i disable it to see if its fine without it ? (havnt found an option for that)

Use the configure-script without the --enable-kad-compile option.

Thanks i ll try it with the new snapshot from today.
Another thing i just seen is, that if i put in slot reservation 10kb/s and there are 2 clients to which I'm uploading and they just download with 2-3 kb/s from me. I had limit on 16 kb/s total upload, and so there are just 2 clients downloading even if they only use about 6 kb/s total. Rest unused.... when i done back slot reservation to 4 kb/s another 2 clients could join. Thats no good bug because it would mean if i do slot reservation up to lets say 50 kb/s only one slot would get used even if that download just with 5 kb/s.

Ok, i tried now the new 20051005 snapsnot and its doing a fine job until now. But i compiled that with the --enable-kad-compile=no option. No more high CPU usage and no Internet connection lag problems. Great! :)
