so, i've been using amule for some time now, and recently got a wireless router. Whenever I have the correct firewall and port forwarding settings on, the router will spontainiously knock everyone offline, and become unresponsive. This happens within minutes of connection. I have to close amule and reboot the router to get the connection back. the strange thing is, if port 4556 (i use all default port #s) is blocked either at the router or my local firewall, everything works fine (other than low id).
the really bizzare thing is, if i use a regular wired router, this doesnt ever come up, yet this is the second wireless router i've experienced this with. it also exibits this problem when i use either wifi or ethernet.
I've tried a few things to fix this, but no luck. lowering the # of connections per 5 seconds, lowering # of max connections, lowering upload/download limit, no difference.
So does anyone have any advice? if you want i can post more details. I'd like to get this resolved -- my roommate insists the problem stems from "********** linux," but i know better. although it doesnt really look too good. thanks for any help
