it hangs
« on: November 18, 2006, 06:30:38 PM »

Hi! I just downloaded de amule into my G5  10.4.8. It opens and connects but at some point it hangs and i have to relaunch it. I did this several times, I even downloaded it again and keeps doing the same thing.
Any ideas? Thanks!!

When you say it hangs, what do you mean specifically? Does it crash or does it freeze?

It freezes up. Seems that its connecting, I can actually start a search and even spits out a few results but then the multicolor circle appears and I have to do a force quit...
I've had it installed before and it worked fine for a while but then the downloads started taking forever and it was eating up all the broad band. For ex: if I had the amule open my brother was unable to use the internet on his computer. I don't have that problem now cause my computer is not shearing the internet but since I reinstalled the program I haven't been able to use it.

Sorry for the late reply. There were just a lot of questions lately and I was pretty busy with other things.

Say, how fast does this typically happen after you start aMule? 30 seconds? 10 minutes? 3 hours?

What you could do is to try to (temporarily) disable aMule's current settings:
- quit aMule
- rename the amule settings folder "~/Library/Application Support/aMule" (the ~ here represents your home folder) to something like "~/Library/Application Support/aMule_old"
- start aMule

Thanks a lot.
