Hi tinkerbellarulz!

Could you please start aMule in a terminal? Here are instructions by lionel77:
Quote
... try starting aMule through the terminal using the following instructions:

    * Control-click on the aMule application icon in the Finder and select 'Show Package Contents'.
    * Navigate to Contents/MacOS where you should see the file 'amule'.
    * Open Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal.
    * Drag the amule file from the Finder and drop it in the Terminal window. Terminal will insert the path to the application onto the command line.
    * Hit return to start aMule.
    * aMule will then produce some output in the terminal window. Copy that output and post it here on the forums.

Welcome to Darwin!
unknown-00-16-cb-b4-d6-5e:~ my name'$ /Users/'my name/Desktop/aMule.app/Contents/MacOS/amule
Initialising aMule
Checking if there is an instance already running...
There seems to be an instance of aMule already running
If this is not the case, you may have to remove
the file ~/.aMule/muleLock, to allow aMule to run.
Attempting to raise current running instance.
unknown-00-16-cb-b4-d6-5e:~ my name'$

is that what you wanted me to do? hope so :) obviously i've changed the txt where my name is but everything is the same. thank you! that wasn't to difficult to do!

Now we can go to the next point:

Go to ~/Library/Application Support/aMule and delete the file 'muleLock'. ~ is your home directory.

Now aMule will start again. :)

Short explanation: aMule creates a file called muleLock on start. If you now start aMule again, aMule will see that the file 'muleLock' exists and not start a second time but instead  raise the current instance. But if you power off your pc while aMule is running or for any other reason aMule is unable to delete the file when shutting down, it things there's another instance running and will not start a second time (as it believes.).
I hope this was explained more or less comprehensible.

It's a directory.
Open the finder (the Windows Explorer equivalent), browse to your home directory. There you'll find a folder called 'Library'. Go to this folder. There's a folger names 'Application Support' and inside this folder is the 'aMule'-folder with the muleLock-file you have to delete.

Honestly, I've never used a Mac (except for 30 minutes in front of an old Os8 machine years ago). :P

hi

1/same problem but not the same respons from darwin:

Welcome to Darwin!
You have mail.
ip-196:~ user /Applications/P2P/aMule.app/Contents/MacOS/amule; exit
This binary requires you to use the flag --i-would-marry-my-mule and only if you're very sure of it. Warning: not legal on most countries.
logout

2/i don't have " folger names 'Application Support' and inside this folder is the 'aMule'-folder with the muleLock-file you have to delete.
"
so what the solution mr doc amule

@sbs:
You are apparently running my latest cvs binary and that version needs to be started through the Terminal using the flag "--i-would-marry-my-mule" as indicated by the error message. For detailed step-by-step instructions on how to do this, please see the thread that is linked in my signature.
