aMule 2.0rc1 & cvs from 27.03.04
« on: March 27, 2004, 10:02:52 AM »

So 2.0 is coming...great!

However, it has the same problem as the cvs from 23.03. Doesn't make a difference wether configured with --with-crypto-prefix or not, since the library is in the standard path.

Any advice? Thanks, Sarge

hi, just tried for the first time to compile amule , same problem here. if i try to compile from an installed version of crypto i get some error about libcryptopp.a being too old so i tried compiling from a compiled crypto in my home directory with prefix, no go, still uses the installed. tried editing config.status which should create a new makefile with the right paths, no go ?(, is there some kind of secret to this ?
i dont get it, the guy hoschy claims to have compiled it a few weeks ago but no-one else has claimed success since :] how about posting some info on the board instead of having to chat on irc which a lot of peeps cant be arsed with ?

I can claim success on 3 different MAcOS box I tried ;) But I can claim I have been going regulary to hospital last days too :PPP

And 3 boxes seem not to be enought. I would love to post ALL the info needed, but I can't, because if I can't get my hands on a system with that error, I can't fix it. That's why we tell people to join irc channel.

Anyway! Join #amule, look for me, I'll debug it with you if I'm available (I should be tonight)

thanks, iŽll try and get on irc tonight then :)
one thing that confuses me, why should it make a difference with having crypto 5.1 installed or just having it compiled in the home directory ?

Hi,

I'm back from holiday now. Last three weeks I only read about aMule. (Ok, one time my girlfiend was not looking and I compiled two CVS-Versions. Hehe. One with success and one without.)
Tonight I will try to compile the last nightly build and will be in IRC.
The CVS-Version from, I think, 22.03. compiled successfully, but when I start aMule, it crashes after loading servers from server.met.
In the version from 23.03. I got errors and make failed.

Ok, tonight I'm in IRC and perhaps also Sarge,RPants and Kry.

@all devs: Thanks for aMule 2.0.0 and hope for this version soon:
Version 2.0.1 - The 'Mules and Rabbits love apples too' version.

bye, hoschy07  ;)

ok, cant make irc, too much work, another day perhaps  :)

@Kry, seeing as you have compiled it on 3 different boxes how about a mini-FAQ on how you do/did it ? :D it would be a great help for people just getting started trying to compile amule (like myself) having some guidelines to go after.
