Amule Binary SVN 2008-06-16, Intel Leopard
« on: June 16, 2008, 01:47:11 PM »

This is the configure script arguments. It was linked to wxMac-2.8.8-rc1, so this is really bleeding edge.

./configure --disable-systray --disable-gtk --enable-embedded_crypto --with-wx-config=../wxMac-2.8.8-rc1/wx-config --enable-webserver --enable-amulecmd --disable-debug --enable-amule-gui --enable-wxcas --enable-alc --enable-alcc --enable-optimize --with-crypto-prefix=/opt/local --with-gdlib-config=/opt/local/bin/gdlib-config  --with-libiconv-prefix=/opt/local

If it is really bleeding edge, would it not be better use --enable-debug ?

Good point. :) Well, I will submit a later snapshop with debug information. For now this particular one seems to be working with no detectable problems.

Will replacing the old amule.app (2.1.3) with the new one work correctly without a problem or do you think that a clean install is needed? Thanks in advance :-)

Well I am using it without changing the configuration, it seems to be working fine. However remember that it is a bit experimental and in principle there may be problems. I will try to post more SVN binaries here periodically.

Well, I'll try it anyway. There doesn't seem to be any complaints for now, so it seems safe to say that it's stable enough for now :-) Thanks, and if I see any weird stuff I'll send you some feedback for sure ;-)

Edit: darn... this aMule seems so close to what I used to use. I used to be the translator for eMule MorphXT some years ago (back in the 5.13 days) and some "strings" are exactly the same as some I had to translate :-P The " Do not change these settings unless you know what you're doing, otherwise you can easily make things worse for yourself" brings some good old memories (I did a kind of funny alternative translation to Spanish in this string). Maybe it was in the original 2.1.3 aMule, but I had never really looked into the configuration details on that one, but anyway, good to see some very good very welcome new stuff too :-)

I have to admit that these binaries crash. I tried to recompile with wxMac-2.8.7 instead and with less options, but it still crashes. Debugging may be necessary.

Oh, and it crashes infrequently, randomly while in the background and while I don't do much, so I am having a hard time to reproduce it. :(

I haven't had any crashes. Weird. Mine's been on for a couple of days now and working perfectly.

That is good to hear. Note how ever that this package is outdated. I posted some better builds to another thread.
