Did anybody fixed that asian font problem ?
« on: June 14, 2010, 12:25:44 PM »

Has anybody found a solution for the asian font problem ?
When a filename has some asian fonts into it, it is present but blanked
in the search tab and in the download tab too.
But it displays correctly if you select the blank filename and displays "show details",
the dialog box shows there the full filename with the asian characters correctly.

Am I the only one to get that behaviour ? :-[

I am running 2.2.6 and svn too under SL.
(I am trying to build wx 2.9.1 and have svn link against it to see if the problem persists, but have finished yet).

If it is a font problem (though I have installed all the asian fonts in SL) the what problem is it and how to solve it ?

Please note, that we're in a constant lack of Mac developers. Most of us have never used a Mac, or not even seen one. Since this problem seems to be Mac-specific, I wouldn't dare to even guess when it will be fixed. :-\

I built aMule SVN with wx 2.9.1 current trunk cocoa 64 bits.
I got it built but it crashes on launching.

I will try to build it again with debug flags.

I've seen that crash happen. IT's really puzzling on my system, and I had no time to check it further, so any information that the debug info gives you we'll be happy to hear.

I had this problem too, but today I wanted to compile aMule myself and check what's going on, first I needed to install libupnp via macports after I found out I need some more stuff installed first I decided to start my old aMule again, and now I see asian characters. I dunno if it's because I installed libupnp (no idea why that would interfere with encoding or something like that)  but I can't think of anything else I did. So you might give it a try.

Seems like not all asian symbols cause this problem. Some I'm able to see, and some not.

Seems I found a solution to the problem.
After having changed the chinese fonts with TCFail to linghei with no success to the solution, I tried to change the language of the interface to English(UK) instead of system default and all of a sudden all the filenames containing chinese characters appeared in the search results.

The problem still exists with the last build of Mirko.g but not when the English(UK) language is selected.
When the french language is selected though, the problem appears again. When italian is selected, the problem appears too.
So it seems the only the enlish language is immune to the problem.
