« on: February 04, 2005, 10:33:14 PM »

So I have read the bible (amule wiki getting started) , configured amule accordingly but :  1) where do I get my speed conncetion? I am connected wireless ... and cannot manage to find the speed anywere ; 2) i keep having a low ID (yellow arrows) even after I have disabled the firewall... and even if the test in the getting started guide tells me that I am fine ...
then i tried to download knoppix... but not working , or may be I should just wait and wait ... :) for how long though????
any body willing to help??

Your guess is as good as mine.  The problem we have been running into (a few have somehow avoided, while the rest of us struggle) is that no downloaded connection stays connected for more than 3-400K, then it disconnects, thus canceling any chance of a speedy download.  I have done the CVS updates for both wxMac and aMule every few days and it still does this.  I'm hoping the Mac aMule developers could find out WHY it is doing this and fix it!  I'm having to run eDonkey to have a decent client right now and I HATE IT!

A couple of days ago, I killed the last remaining (I hope) endianness bug in the IPFilter code.  Some people were reporting that they were getting low-id with IPFilter enabled but high-id with it disabled.  This endianness bug may have been the source of that problem.  If so, then enabling IPFilter should no longer cause you to get low-id.
