My router is very BAD!!!!

It go to freeze if receive "bad packet"
For ex. if i send a file with DCC Send under irc and the file name have a blank space it go to freeze.
It's a bug of the firmware and solwise don't want resolve it  X(

Imho it's possible that aMule send "too malformed packages (for it)" with "Max new connections / 5 secs set to 20" and the router go to freeze or hang the connection.

I must investigate :)

Lins,

What exactly do you call a "bad packet"? As far as I know, there is no such thing. aMule does not build the packets, the Linux Kernel does it. And I doubt it generates a "bad packet". What usually happens is that the router gets out of memory if you create too many connections, more than it can handle.

Cheers!

Bad packet for router not bad packet created from kernel ;)

I've posted an example on a reply up.

For ex. if i send a file with DCC Send under irc and the file name have a blank space it go to freeze.

For my router a file name sended with DCC Send under irc cause freeze of it or hang of my connection (i've called "bad packet" a packet that cause problem to my router, not any malformed packet generated from my kernel ;))

I don't think that the problem is the number too high of connection ip because my router support 512 max connection and i've attach only 1 pc to it (max 2) :)

Bye

p.s. sorry for my bad eng, but i'm an italia user

Very strange thing a router go crazy about inside protocol information that he has nothing to do with, but anyway, anything is possible.
