credit handling even more buggy...
« on: March 21, 2005, 02:40:40 PM »

hi,
i have noticed this earlier and reported this already, now some more evidence.
credits are not handled properly, sometimes peers get much more uploads than deserved. since i didn't find complaints in the general section, this may be Mac specific? i dunno.

screenshots are too large for forum upload, so pls get them from:
screenshots.zip

from Bild_1 to Bild_5 see the amule peer. it got this session 74 MB until in Bild_5 it finally is sorted back in the queue. until last my amule thinks it entered the queue >15 hours ago.

from Bild_3 to Bild_4 see user n_rique.

in Bild_7 see the highlighted one. waited 23 hours but got already 53MB this session. wow.

also see user Cat from Bild_2 to Bild_4.

i believe the reason is that the "time waited" is not reset when a block is not completely uploaded but preempted for whatever reason.

well since I am one of the few who saw your link....

1st. please readd the pages, but blank out the files ;) so no copyrighted stuff is show...

2nd. does this only happen with amule-1.2.8 ?

since we are at rc8 or later now...and only a few 1.2.8 out there

still bothering me
« Reply #4 on: April 30, 2005, 09:32:37 PM »

hi, credit handling is still broken and nagging me a lot.
yesterday & today with cvs (cvs20050428, but exact version doesnt matter) i noticed 3 peers which connect and get served again and again.
first: these peers seem to have a broken parts file or whatever, which creates maximum trouble. they seem to try to get the last chunk of the same file. they connect, get served that chunk and after minutes they connect again and are served this chunk over and over again. this way i probably have sent only these 3 more than 500 MB within the last 2 days. i don't know what exactly is wrong on their side, but can tell about whats going wrong on mine:

they connect, wait their respective time until their score is high enough, then they get sent their chunk. it is the last chunk which is shorter than standard, so they dont get sent the maximum 9.28 MB data. they disconnect. Maybe even befor this shorter chunk is finished, i cant tell. For their own fault they find a problem and request this chunk again. Now they get served very fast. they dont enter the queue at the end: Their "Waited" time is not set to their new time stamp but remains at the old time stamp. so they get a high score immediately. This repeats ad infinitum. As another hint it seems that the Data transfered in this session does not accumulate (though the total data transferred does)

see attached screenshots and there those with nick saruman, utena, DarkRider:
Bild 1: after approx. 15 hrs running
Bild 4: after approx. 22 hrs running
Bild 2+3: after 15 hrs, from the "Show details" popup for utena + DarkRider

for now i have put them in the ipfilter.dat, but they show up again whenever they change their ip.

hth, m2kio !
